What’s the cost to attend events?

Events will be free to attend. There may be some events where we go somewhere as a group where there is a cost attached to that event. In those instances, you would pay that venue directly for your ticket/cost to attend.

Are any topics taboo?

Refrain from any “hot button” topics where emotions might run high. We’re not a debate club. Please refrain from discussing politics or political policies at events in particular.

I don’t know anyone in the group and meeting strangers makes me anxious. What advice would you have for a shy first timer?

Appreciate the bravery it takes to attend your first event. I’m here to be your friend wingman for the night. I’d say try to get to the event as close to the start time as possible. There are a couple benefits to this. It will be less intimidating to meet just a couple people instead of seeing a big crowd. It may feel like the difference between dipping your toes in the water or jumping into the deep end of the pool. Also, when you attend your first event two hours into the event, it can look like everyone has been friends for a long time; even though they only met each other a couple hours ago in reality.

Is this a Christian group?

I’m a Christian man. I attend Calvary Church in Lancaster.

Want to be clear that we welcome friends of all religious or non-religious backgrounds. Religious discussions are ok as long as the spirit of those discussions remain loving and boundaries are respected. It’s a very important aspect of my life, so it’s layered into my life in ways I’m probably not always conscious about. When in doubt of whether a topic strays into religious territory, keep the peace and change the subject if there’s any tension/resistance. Please refrain from heated debate. Not the place for that.

Are events kid friendly?

Lancaster is a great place to raise a family. We will be doing picnics/lawn games, sporting events, festivals, ice cream socials, First Fridays, etc that will be family friendly.

We will also be doing some bar events/bar crawls. The bar/ bar crawl events will be for adults 21+ and will have 21+ listed in the description. These venues will card at the door. You must have Valid ID to attend these.

If you are attending a family friendly event, please be conscious that there may be children around and be respectful of your surroundings.
