My company, Alro Steel, offered me a job promotion that required relocation from Chicago to Lancaster and I moved here in July 2024. When I was offered the job, I typed three words into my computer. "Meet People Lancaster". I didn't know anyone in PA prior to the move, so I was curious on what my first step would be to re-build my whole friends group.

The Google search worried me. There was the link to Meetup and some Reddit posts about how hard it is to make friends here. When I made the move, I was pleasantly surprised by how vibrant of a social community exists here. Lancaster is a community of good hearted people who take care of each other. And while the community here is special, I wonder who might be on the outskirts of it, struggling to connect. That's where we come in!!! If that statement resonates with you, you're why I started this club up. To meet you! I would love for nothing more than for this group to make it's way to the top of Google's algorithm, so all Lancaster transplants feel welcome here. I hope long-term PA residents deepen their roots here and fall in love with the benefits of being a PA resident once again.

When you introduce yourself, please let me know a couple of your hobbies and event suggestions. I'm still very new to the area, so I need help connecting with venues that will be a good fit for events. Oh, I kinda forgot to talk about myself. Oops. My hobbies include: volleyball, pickleball, dance, running, watching sports, games nights and finding creative ways to connect community. Love my job as a Territory Sales Manager for Alro Steel! It's a company with a tremendous culture of building relationships and trust with customers. They've instilled in me some solid values that I'd love to share with my community. My friendship wingman skills are at your disposal. How can I help?

Thrilled to add Marky Mark to our hosting team! Mark will be hosting our trivia nights at Southern Market. Mark loves his heated salt water pool at The Crossings apartment complex, golfing, karaoke at Joe’s Hideaway, watching football, UFC nights, grilling and peach cobbler. Please ask him about peach cobbler. Nothing would make me happier...

Sarah is a native to southeast PA and loves the outdoors. Her interests include: hiking, kayaking, yoga, rollerblading, art, reading, traveling, gardening, training jiu jitsu, being a pincushion for my cat and finding good sushi.  She's based out of New Holland, so, ask her where the best Hikes and Amish roadside stands for seasonal produce, whoopie pies, and donuts in the county are!

Shaun is my right hand man who does a lot behind the scenes to make this group happen. Thank him for his contributions the next time you see him. If you’re at an event where Shaun is hosting, rest assured; you are in the room where it happens…
